best-scary-movies-you-cant-watch

When the month of October starts, all households start prepping for Halloween. You must have decided on your costume for this year’s Halloween party already if you are attending one. But what about those adults who would be spending their Halloween home? Well, if you’d be chilling at home, you can take advantage of your TV. I have a Spectrum TV gold package and I spend my Halloween night watching Halloween movies and munching candies.

Are you planning to watch Halloween movies as well? You don’t really need to wait for 31st October to watch them. Start today. Here are all the best Halloween movies from classics to the latest:

1: Hocus Pocus

This one is my all-time favorite and I have been watching Hocus Pocus for 10 years straight.  Hocus Pocus features Sarah Jessica Parker. It’s a comedic trio of three watches who are resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem on Halloween night. Even though at the end of the movie, the witches are gone, but they can return again. I am counting on the directors to make a sequel to this movie. It would be exciting to see the witches in action again.

2: Practical Magic

It’s an American romantic comedy fantasy movie starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. The movie is based on the novel of the same name. Sally and Gillian Owens are witches, they are raised by their aunts who teach them the uses of practical magic.

The Owens family has a curse – the men they fall in love with die. Both sisters use their powers to fight the family curse. To watch out what happens next, you must watch Practical Magic this Halloween.

3: Sweeney Todd

It’s a musical film that’s an adaptation of a 1979’s Tony award-winning musical of the same name. The movie tells the tale of Sweeny Todd played by Johnny Depp. He works as a barber who secretly kills his customers using a straight razor. He is not alone. With the help of Mrs. Lovett (played by Helena Bonham Carter), he converts the corpses into meat pies.

4: Get Out

This American horror movie follows a young African American Chris Washington who uncovers a horrible secret when he meets his girlfriend’s family. This movie is insane. If you want to watch something spooky with a twist, Get Out is exactly what you need.

5: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

This is my second most favorite movie, because who doesn’t love Charlie Brown. I am a huge fan of Charles M. Schulz as well. It’s a 20 minutes Halloween special. As autumn takes the swing, the peanut gang starts preparing for Halloween. Linus goes out to his local pumpkin patch to find the great pumpkin. Lucy joins him too.

That’s not it, so much’s happening around. Every character is up to something. If you would like to laugh and go back to your childhood for a little while, do watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

6: Twitches

Twitches is a Disney channel original movie and it’s worth your time. A royal witch in the magical town of Coventry gives birth to identical twins daughters on Halloween night. To prevent the two girls from an evil entity called the Darkness, friends of the family take the two to a non-magical dimension called Earth and give them for adoption.

The girls are adopted by two different families. On their 21st birthday, the sisters encounter each other for the first time. In joy and astonishment, their magic is released. There’s so much more to the story and you have got to watch the movie to find what happens next.

7: The Witches

After Twitches, the next must-watch Halloween movie is the Witches. The sequel of the movie which is on its way too has Anne Hathaway. It’s based on a novel by Roald Dhal of the same name.

The film features evil watches who kill ordinary women and children. A boy and his grandma must find a way to stop them once and for all.

8: The Sixth Sense

It’s a supernatural psychological thriller that tells the story of a boy named Cole Sear who can see and talk to dead people. Malcolm Crow, a child psychologist tries to help him out.  It was one of the highest-grossing movies of the 1999s.

Let me spill a spoiler that will entice you to watch this movie. At the end of the Malcolm realizes he was dead the whole time. Chilling, right?

Conclusion

The list of best movies goes on and on. If you manage to watch these, you will have a great time. Each movie lifts the spooky spirit and is definitely worth your time if you haven’t watched them ever.

I am planning to call the Spectrum phone number to get assistance to set up their app on my phone so that I can watch movies on TV.
